Popping bottles…. Of Kombuncha?!

Last week on a wintery Tuesday night, I went out with some girlfriends to one of Melbourne’s biggest Night clubs, Miss Collins. We drank, we mingled, we laughed, we met guys at the bar, and we meditated- yes you heard right, meditated.
Heading out to a full blown club midweek has got to be an all time low for anyone unless its Summer and your in Ibiza, but this was certainly different.
We replaced getting tipsy, sleazy one-liners and ear busting beats for one mass meditation party. Hosted by not-for-profit organisation 1 Giant Mind, hundreds of people  sat on cushions sprawled across what once was the  D-floor, while being seranaded by hypnotic guitar rifts. The vibe was zen.
I’m the first to admit I’ve “given meditation a go” many times but it’s never come to fruition. My busy mind and lack of time is what I usually blame. But thats exactly why it’s necessary.
Co-founder and creator Jonni Pollard calmed the room effortlessly on the night, guiding us through 15 minutes of blissful mediation. The feeling, space and energy was electric. Along with the best in the organically certified  biz, offering locally sourced and positively delicious treats from Shoku Iku, Green Street and a scrumptious dinner by Lentil As Anything,I left da club more alive, positively influenced and better off- and that’s definitely a first!

It’s scientifically proven that mediation can benefit a stressful and demanding life. This include’s increased brain and immune function, decreased stress, anxiety and depression, greater energy and vitality, increased emotional stability, focus and concentration, and a greater feeling of happiness and well being.
Before this I didn’t even know ‘how’ to meditate,  but with the launch of the 1 Giant Mind App this process is made easy and empowers people with ‘Learn to Meditate’ programs. The App is free and is a must if any of the above are important to you- and I guarantee they are.
